Declaration of Independence 2011
"There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." -James Madison, Father of the Constitution.
Following the Independence Day attack on the Constitution by Time Magazine that inspired an Alex Jones video over the weekend, we at Infowars.com believe it is important to reaffirm our independence and focus more intently than ever on the core principles of our republic.
Thomas Jefferson's original document not only declared liberty and independence from tyranny, it also served as an indictment against King George for violating the constitutional rights of the colonists. Since the signing of the Declaration more than two hundred and thirty years ago, government has slowly and methodically swept away many of the freedoms our forefathers fought and died for on the battlefields of Lexington and Concord.
Now it is time to reassert those largely lost natural and legal rights. Before we can issue another Declaration of Independence - a reaffirmation of the original treatise - we must understand how a tyrannical government has today eroded our birthright.
The following bullet points document how Obama has followed in Bush's footsteps and is on schedule with the globalist plan to dismantle the Constitution.
Historian Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. wrote about the imperial presidency in the 1960s. Obama and his predecessor have taken the practice to new heights:
Signing statements, executive orders. During the election Obama promised to end this practice, but it continued uninterrupted.
Executive privilege. Once again, Obama picks up where Bush left off. Not long after assuming office, Obama signed an executive order citing executive privilege in respect to public disclosure and sharing information with Congress. In other words, Obama has increased government secrecy, not eliminated it as he promised to do when running for president.
Torture. Obama signed an executive order supposedly banning torture, but as James Hill notes the order has loopholes you can drive a Mack truck through. "The loopholes in President Obama's executive order on torture may permit cruel abuses of prisoners to continue, using a legal parlor trick," writes Hill.
Unconstitutional Wars. Obama, in direct violation of the Constitution, has taken it upon himself to declare war without the permission or consultation of Congress. The Constitution clearly and unmistakably vests Congress with the decision to declare war, not the president.
Illegal wiretaps. In 2008, Obama made another promise he did not intend to keep. He said there would be no warrantless and unconstitutional wiretaps during his tenure. However, in September, 2010, Obama submitted a plan to Congress making it easier for law enforcement to conduct warrantless surveillance on the internet. According to San Francisco attorney Jon Eisenberg, Obama is even more "strident" than Bush and the neocons in violating the Fourth Amendment.
Reauthorizing the PATRIOT Act. Bush arrogantly claimed the Fourth Amendment is not applicable to widespread NSA spying and electronic surveillance. Under Obama, this illegal surveillance has continued and the Patriot Act was extended despite Obama's promise to review it. The Patriot Act violates the Constitution on multiple levels, including denying citizens the right to a speedy trial, discouraging freedom of association, undermining the right to legal representation, threatening librarians with prosecution, and jailing Americans without the right to confront witnesses against them. In effect, Bush and then Obama have worked tirelessly to destroy legal principles that stretch back to English Common Law and the Magna Carta of 1215.
States Rights and the Eleventh Amendment. The Obama administration has demonstrated that the federal government will not respect the sovereignty of the states. In 2010, the Obama Justice Department announced it would sue the state of Arizona over SB 1070, a law designed to staunch the flow of illegal immigrants over the border.
Obamacare and the Tenth Amendment. Obama's mandatory health care fiasco - connived in league with large health care and insurance corporations (who wrote the bill) - that will be imposed at gunpoint is a direct violation of the Tenth Amendment. In 1791, when the Tenth Amendment was ratified, Thomas Jefferson said he considered it the very foundation of the Constitution. "To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition," Jefferson wrote. Obama and Congress assumed possession of this boundless field of power when they rushed Obama's health care legislation through Congress.
Forced vaccinations, regulation of vitamins. During the mostly hyped H1N1 "pandemic," the federal government was at the forefront in an effort to propagandize the public on dangerous vaccinations. The feds are also working to outlaw a large number of vitamins and supplements. "If we accept this notion that the federal government is going to dictate what we can put into our bodies, then it leads to the next step: that the government is going to regulate everything that is supposedly good for us," notes Ron Paul. "That's where they are. They have an FDA that won't allow somebody who's dying to use an experimental drug which might speed up the process of finding out which drugs are good and which drugs are bad and the federal government comes in and dictates that they want complete control over vitamins and nutritional products and I just think the whole principal of government telling us what we can take in or not take in is just a dangerous position to take... it's related to the drug industry because they'd like to control all of this."
Second Amendment. On the campaign trail in 2008, Obama said he considered laws banning handguns to be constitutional. In response to a lawsuit challenging a Washington D.C. ban on handguns, Obama said he supports "reasonable regulations" imposed on the Second Amendment by government. In 2008, Obama's top cop, Eric Holder at the Justice Department, said that "the Second Amendment did not protect an individual right to keep and bear arms," that it only protected government militias' rights to guns. He claimed that the Second Amendment posed no obstacle to implementing gun bans.
Barack Hussein Obama, as the ostensibly elected leader of the federal government, is little different from King George. Obama has refused has assent to laws, has obstructed the administration of justice, subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution (the United Nations and globalist treaties), has imposed taxes upon us without consent, and many other violations enumerated in the original Declaration of Independence.
It is now time to reassert not only the Declaration of Independence, but also endeavor to protect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights from further deterioration at the hands of Obama, who is, after all, little more than the public relations face of the real culprits behind the demise of our constitutional republic - a cabal of offshore international bankers who harbor nothing but contempt for the prospect of liberty and the inalienable rights of humanity.
“The Framers of the Bill of Rights did not purport to "create" rights. Rather, they designed the Bill of Rights to prohibit our Government from infringing rights and liberties presumed to be preexisting.” William J. Brennan, Jr.
